Invitation writers’ residency at KuBa: Kulturbahnhof
This August, I have been invited by KuBa: Kulturbahnhof for a writers’ residency. Alongside me, other writers and visual artists will also be working there during this period.
The two women who run it are artists themselves, and they have gathered a very inspiring and dynamic group of people around this residency.
I am absolutely delighted to be taking part in their official residency programme this year and am really looking forward to the exchange.
Culture Moves Europe
For this project, I have been awarded a grant from the European Commission’s Culture Moves Europe Fund.
Project: Colour Is a Verb
During the residency I will work on the project Colour Is a Verb – a poetic-philosophical writing project. I will move between KuBa’s garden and print studio, exploring natural colour cycles and the layering and overprinting of inks. The writing will emerge from these observations as well as from dialogue with fellow European artists.
My writings will trace how colour moves between landscape and material, rooted in the local ecology and print practices of KuBa.
We will initiate a gathering with the wider artistic network and conclude with a public presentation. On both occasions, I will facilitate workshops on colour experience: print experiments and perceptual exercises in the garden.
I have been there once before in 2023, when Uta Neumann and I did a winter retreat there together.
